Rulings:

When considering the "first", "second", etc. damage dealt to you in a turn, it looks at any time that damage could have been dealt to you, not whether it actually damaged you or not. As such, Yggdrasil, Malefic Verdant Tree, Alice, Possessed Queen of Shadows, and Dying Soul of the Malefic Tree will prevent the first 3 instances of damage that would be dealt to you, regardless if any of them actually dealt damage.
